Beach week 09

So here's the thing, I've never been to beach week before last week. I heard all about it but never had the pleasure. My wife and I changed that by tagging along and being a sponser. It was absolutely awesome. I've never seen anything quite like it for a youth group event. There are a couple of things I wanted to say about it.
A couple of days before I was starting to get the feeling that I wasn't supposed to go. Then the day before I swore God was telling me not to go. But I was committed to it so I went anyways.
Something happened when I got there though, God used me for His purposes. I thought I would just flounder around and not know what to do but the Lord worked in me and made me feel comfortable with the friends he sent on the trip and just the totally incredible group that I got.
By the way, while we are talking about my team or the fabulous team Greece, Daryl and Micah and Kelly must love me because I couldn't have asked for a more open, enthusiastic, and fun team with a passion and zeal for the Lord. They blesses my heart the whole week. It was truly my honor to be their leader all week. I only hope that I was able to lead them half as much as all of them warmed my heart all week.
During the camp, Micah and I roomed together. We were walking back from camp one day while we were discussing our small group times. I told him that our discussions were going great but I felt like they needed more. I told him that I was wanting to talk to the kids not just about being fed the Word of God, but that I was going to talk to them about pouring their life, their passion, and their knowledge into someone else. Also I told Micah that I felt like during one of the sessions we should talk about how after everything happens we need to just praise His name. Worship him with all our might. Well it just so happens that during the evening message, Blake(our speaker for the week), spoke about discipling others and not just taking in what you learn but applying it to others ad other situations. Then the very next night, he spoke about praising the Lord our God. I can't tell you how surreal it was to witness God in that way. My mom said it best when she told me that I was in tune with what God wanted me to discuss with our team about. Then I knew I was suppossed to be there. Satan was just fireing away at me so that I wouldn't have that oppurtunity.
In closing I just want to say that if you are doing God's work then satan is going to try and do everything that he can to stop you from doing that. My thoughts were a jumbled mess before camp. But in the end God is the one that prevailed because I listened to what He had to say. If you are having a tough time with life or you know or certain that Satan is coming at you with what seems like an overwhelming force, take heart in the fact that God will never put you through something that He know you can't get through. You won't be able to do it on your own but you most certainly will be able to with Jesus as your guide. Let him pull you through the situation. In fact He wants you to call out to Him. So do it. Call out to Him.
